When You Don’t Understand - Trust

“As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.” — Ecclesiastes 11:5

There is so much in life we simply cannot see.

We don’t see how life forms in the womb, yet it does—quietly, intricately, beyond our understanding. We don’t see all the ways God is working beneath the surface, yet He is—constantly, intentionally, faithfully.

This verse gently reminds us: you are not meant to understand everything God is doing.

Isaiah 55:8-9 says “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’”

And maybe that’s where the tension lives for you right now.

You want clarity.
You want confirmation.
You want to know that where you’re headed will actually lead somewhere good.

But God doesn’t always give explanations—He gives invitations.

An invitation to trust.
An invitation to keep walking.
An invitation to believe that just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean He isn’t working.

The same God who forms life in unseen places is forming something in your life right now. In the waiting. In the uncertainty. In the quiet, ordinary moments that feel like nothing is happening.

But something is happening.

Growth often feels invisible before it becomes undeniable.

So instead of striving to figure everything out, you can rest in this: God is already doing what only He can do. Your job is not to understand His work, but to stay close to Him while He does it.

Keep showing up.
Keep trusting.
Keep walking.

Even when you don’t see it yet.
